Hedgepeth Home

Buckey

My daughter Sarah and her new pony Buckey. Buckey has the best disposition and our goal is to train him to pull a pony cart. Everybody loves Buckey and he gets a lot of treats. Craig restored the old pony cart he used to ride as a kid with his brothers and father. Sarah and her friends had a great time pretending to be a pony and taking turns with pulling the cart.

Coming Home

We were very excited to welcome home my husband's brother Sgt. Kent Hedgepeth from his second tour of duty in Iraq with the USMC. The weekend was a very cold one at Camp Legune but, it was a very warm one for our hearts!! The pictures are of Sarah on Craig's shoulders with her welcome home sign( you can see the buses as they are arriving in the back) and of Kent and his wife Susan ( a very happy moment).

Working on the house

My husband has been working on the house foundation and on replacing the old tin on the roof. My father , Landis, who is a excellent carpenter , has been working on repairing windows. In the picture they are working on cutting out tin for the wood stove pipe. We want to keep the house as original to the 1880- 1920 time period as possible.

Wiggins Family 1908-1910

We have been working on the farm house where my great grandfather Green Wiggins lived and raised his family. My grandmother was the oldest daughter. Here is a picture of the house and the Wiggins family taken somewhere around year 1908-1910.

Started this blog to post some pictures and catalog our progress on family projects and revitalization of our family farm. This is a picture of our aging mare Blaze who is well over thirty years old and our barn that is over seventy years old.
